The C&M Difference
Every C&M Australian-made product is manufactured in our Griffith, NSW engineering workshop and enhanced using more than 80 years of engineering experience supporting Australian agriculture. We don't make changes for the sake of it. Every improvement is made with a clear purpose — to deliver a product that is better performing, longer lasting or better value for Australian farmers.
Whether it's selecting premium materials, strengthening critical wear areas or refining our manufacturing methods, every enhancement is focused on reducing machine downtime, extending service life and helping you get more from your equipment.
Expert Maintenance Review
The feeder drum is a critical component responsible for maintaining smooth crop flow from the front of the machine into the rotor. On combines fitted with U-bar feeder chains, the support rings help guide and stabilise the feeder chain slats. As these rings wear, crop flow can become inconsistent, increasing the likelihood of chain vibration, slat damage and premature wear of surrounding components.
As part of your preventative maintenance routine, inspect the support rings for uneven wear, scoring and damage, along with checking drum bearings and alignment. Replacing worn feeder drums before failure helps maintain smooth crop feeding, reduces unnecessary stress on the feeder drive system and contributes to reliable harvesting performance throughout the season.
Installation Tip: Verify Your Feeder Chain
Before installation, confirm your combine is fitted with a standard U-bar feeder chain. If your machine has been upgraded to a heavy cast-bar feeder chain, use the C&M ringless feeder drum (Part No. 51552615). Correct drum selection ensures proper feeder chain alignment, smooth crop flow and maximum service life.
