Expert Maintenance Review
The front grain tank auger is continually exposed to abrasive grain and high throughput during unloading. Inspect the flighting for thinning, worn leading edges, cracks and damage around the shaft. Excessive wear can reduce unloading efficiency, restrict grain flow and place additional stress on the remaining unloading system components.
Installation Tip
When replacing the grain tank front auger, inspect the adjoining unloading augers, bearings, drive shafts and gearboxes for wear. Servicing the complete unloading system at the same time helps maximise the service life of the new auger and reduces the risk of in-season breakdowns.
