Why Replace a Worn Tailings Processor Shaft?
The upper blower mid shaft transfers drive through the tailings processor assembly. Wear around the bearing journals or keyway can cause excessive movement, vibration, poor component alignment and accelerated wear of connected bearings, pulleys and drive components.
Expert Maintenance Review
When replacing the shaft, inspect the associated bearings, bearing housings, keys, pulleys and retaining hardware for wear or damage. Bearings that have operated on a worn or misaligned shaft may also require replacement.
Check the tailings processor housing for movement, cracking or elongated mounting holes before installation. Replacing worn supporting components at the same time can improve reliability and reduce repeat repairs.
Installation Tip
Clean all bearing bores and mating surfaces before assembly. Lightly lubricate the bearing journals and ensure the key is fully seated within the 10mm keyway before installing the drive components. Check shaft alignment, fastener security and free rotation before returning the combine to service.
