Fendt® Compatible IDEAL® 7 & 8 Feeder House 3-Chain Assembly
Keep the feeder house on your Fendt® IDEAL® 7 or IDEAL® 8 combine in top condition with this C&M assembled complete 3-chain feeder house assembly. Supplied ready to install, the assembly uses premium A557 chain with 26 roll-serrated, electroplated 6mm Grade 350 steel U-bar slats in an 8-4-8 spacing configuration.
This assembly is designed specifically for selected Fendt® IDEAL® 7 and IDEAL® 8 combines fitted with the 3-chain feeder house arrangement. The C&M configuration uses an 8-4-8 slat spacing with 26 bars, compared with the original 12-6-12 arrangement with 18 bars.
The feeder house chains are assembled at Collier & Miller in Griffith, NSW. Premium chain, roll-formed serrated slats and high-tensile fasteners are combined into a complete bolted assembly, reducing the amount of component assembly required when replacing a worn feeder house chain.

The C&M Difference
This feeder house chain is assembled by Collier & Miller in Griffith, NSW using premium chain and heavy-duty roll-serrated Grade 350 steel slats. The rolled serration process consolidates the slat material rather than relying on a cut serration, while electroplating provides corrosion resistance and a consistent surface for assembly.
The chains are factory pre-loaded and lubricated before assembly, helping reduce initial chain settling and tensioning requirements. High-tensile zinc-plated fasteners, locking compound and lock nuts are used throughout the assembly, with fastener torque checked before the completed chain leaves C&M.
Expert Maintenance Review
A new feeder house chain should not be expected to run correctly on badly worn sprockets. Worn sprocket teeth can affect how the new chain engages and tracks, placing unnecessary load on the chain and slat assembly. For this reason, C&M recommends inspecting the feeder house sprockets carefully and replacing worn sprockets when fitting a new chain assembly.
Also check the condition of the feeder house components around the chain path before installation. Addressing worn components while the feeder house is already apart can help the replacement chain operate as intended and avoids putting a new assembly back onto worn supporting components.
Recommended Maintenance Upgrade
Inspect the feeder house sprockets when replacing the chain. If the sprocket tooth profile shows significant wear, replace the sprockets at the same time as the new chain assembly. Matching a new chain with serviceable sprockets supports correct chain engagement and helps protect the new feeder house assembly.
Installation Tip
Before removing the existing assembly, confirm that your machine uses the 3-chain configuration and compare the existing chain and sprocket arrangement with the replacement assembly. The C&M chain uses a 26-bar, 8-4-8 configuration rather than the original 18-bar, 12-6-12 arrangement, so the different slat spacing is intentional.
Following installation, check that the three chains are correctly positioned and that the feeder house chain runs freely through its complete path. Carry out the normal chain tension and fastener checks required for your machine before returning the combine to service.
