Expert Maintenance Review
Draper roller bearings operate continuously while the front is running and can develop wear through contamination, moisture and extended operating hours. A worn bearing may become noisy, rough to rotate or develop excessive movement at the roller. During inspection, check that the roller turns freely and that there is no noticeable play around the bearing or hex shaft.
Installation Tip
Before fitting the new bearing, inspect the 18mm hex shaft and bearing mounting area for rounding, corrosion or excessive wear. A worn shaft can allow movement even with a new bearing installed. Check the adjoining roller, mounts and belt alignment before returning the front to service.
