RC Specialty Concaves for John Deere® X9 Combines
Maximise Efficiency. Maximise Capacity.
Push more performance out of your John Deere® X9 combine with RC Specialty Concaves, designed and tested in Australia by Rod Gribble for tough local harvesting conditions. Built to improve threshing performance, crop flow and machine efficiency, these concaves are a serious upgrade for operators wanting to reduce rotor loss and keep grain quality under control.
Rod Gribble brings more than 40 years of combine harvester operation, contracting and machine tuning experience to these modules. His approach is practical and field-proven: concaves are one part of the full machine setup, but the right concave design can make a major difference to throughput, separation and sample quality when conditions get demanding.
These C&M Made in Australia John Deere® X9 concaves are manufactured in Griffith, NSW and built for Australian crop conditions, including high straw load harvesting where standard modules can limit capacity. Constructed from high-strength Bisalloy plate and 4140 bar, they are made for long service life, strong wear resistance and reliable performance across a wide range of crops.
“RC concaves are designed for owners looking to gain extra efficiency and productivity over the OEM modules. They work extremely well in all crops and absolutely stand out in high straw load conditions at greatly reducing rotor loss.”

The C&M Difference
C&M Made in Australia means this product is manufactured in our engineering facility in Griffith, NSW. It is not just sourced and boxed. It is built by a long-standing regional engineering team with decades of experience solving real machinery problems for Australian farmers and contractors.
For growers running high-capacity machines like the John Deere® X9, the benefit is clear: a heavy-duty concave kit designed around Australian harvesting conditions, built from high-strength materials, and backed by a team that understands practical farm machinery performance. It is a dependable option for operators chasing better value, improved service life and more capacity from their machine.
Expert Maintenance Review
Concaves are high-wear threshing components. When bars become rounded, frames lose shape or crop flow becomes restricted, the machine can become harder to tune and rotor losses may increase. Before harvest, inspect your existing concaves for worn bars, cracked welds, bent frames, loose mounting points and uneven wear across positions 1 and 2.
Rod Gribble’s tuning approach is based on the whole machine, not a single part in isolation. For best results, assess the concaves alongside rotor settings, clearance, crop condition, sieve setup, ground speed and grain loss monitoring. The right concave package gives the operator a stronger starting point, but final performance still comes from correct setup in the paddock.
Installation Tip
Install these RC concaves as a matched 4-frame kit in positions 1 and 2. Before fitting, isolate the machine safely, clean the concave area thoroughly and check all mounting surfaces for damage or packed material. Once installed, confirm concave alignment, rotor clearance and calibration before entering the crop.
Start with conservative settings, then make small adjustments after checking grain sample, rotor loss and throughput. Always follow the John Deere® operator manual and safe work procedures when removing or installing concave modules.
