Expert Maintenance Review
The elevator top wear plate is the primary contact point for grain as it is discharged from the elevator chain into the tank. Standard plates often suffer from "burn-through" in high-capacity machines, which can lead to damage of the elevator head housing. We recommend inspecting this plate for thinning or holes during every preventative maintenance cycle.
Upgrading to this 6mm stainless steel plate is a high-strength choice that resists the "scouring" effect of abrasive crops much more effectively than carbon steel. This extended wear component keeps your elevator assembly in top condition, preventing costly mid-harvest housing repairs and maintaining optimum crop flow throughout the season.
Installation Tip
When installing this new 6mm wear plate, ensure it is seated flush against the elevator head frame. Any gaps can allow grain to trap behind the plate, leading to internal corrosion or uneven wear. Checking the condition of your Elevator Head Cover and Side Plates at the same time is recommended for a complete system refresh.
