John Deere® X9 Compatible Feeder House Conveyor Chains-Only Set - 4 Chain, 12-Pitch

Keep the feeder house and product feeding system of your John Deere® X9 Series combine harvester in top condition with this C&M four-chain feeder house conveyor chains-only set. Designed for X9 1000 and X9 1100 combines using the original 12-pitch feeder slat arrangement, this replacement set allows serviceable original non-serrated feeder slats to be transferred onto new premium feeder house chains rather than replacing the complete conveyor assembly.

Chains-Only Feeder House Replacement

C&M offers complete assembled feeder house chains as well as chains-only replacement sets for applications where the existing feeder slats remain serviceable. This chains-only option replaces the four worn chain strands while allowing the existing feeder slats to be reused.

The replacement chains retain the original attachment spacing and mounting-hole arrangement required for the 12-pitch conveyor configuration. This provides a practical rebuild option where the original slats are straight, structurally sound and free from excessive wear around the mounting holes.

Feeder slats and slat mounting bolts and nuts are not included with this chains-only set.

The C&M Difference

C&M feeder house chains are built around premium chain selected for demanding combine harvester applications. The chain features solid bushings and is factory pre-loaded and lubricated before supply to help provide consistent operation and reduce initial adjustment requirements.

C&M branded feeder house chains are assembled through Collier & Miller's facility in Griffith, NSW. The chains-only option provides a cost-effective way to restore the conveyor where the chain has reached the end of its service life but the original feeder slats remain suitable for reuse.

Expert Maintenance Review

A chains-only rebuild should only be carried out after carefully inspecting the existing feeder slats. Check each slat for bending, cracking, excessive edge wear and elongated or damaged mounting holes. Any slat that is distorted or structurally damaged should be replaced rather than transferred to the new chains.

Inspect the existing slat bolts, nuts and associated mounting hardware at the same time. Worn, damaged or corroded fasteners should not be reused when assembling the replacement conveyor.

The feeder drive sprockets and associated feeder house power transmission components should also be inspected before installing the new chains. Hooked, pointed or unevenly worn sprocket teeth can prevent correct chain engagement and accelerate wear in a new chain set.

Recommended Maintenance Upgrade

C&M recommends inspecting the feeder house top sprocket and replacing when installing new conveyor chains. Running new chains on excessively worn sprockets can cause poor engagement, uneven loading and accelerated chain wear, reducing the service life of the new conveyor chains.

Installation Tip

Before dismantling the original conveyor, record the orientation of the feeder slats and their position across all four chain strands. When transferring the original slats onto the replacement chains, maintain the correct 12-pitch spacing and ensure every slat is square across the conveyor before tightening the mounting fasteners.

Install suitable serviceable or new high-tensile slat mounting fasteners and tighten them evenly. Check that each slat remains correctly aligned across all four chains so that one chain strand is not carrying more load than the others.

After installation, set feeder conveyor tension in accordance with the machine manufacturer's specification. Rotate the conveyor through a complete cycle and confirm correct chain tracking, feeder slat clearance and smooth engagement with the drive sprocket before returning the machine to service.

Compatibility Note: Machine specifications can vary by serial number and feeder house configuration. Confirm that the existing machine uses the four-chain, 12-pitch feeder conveyor arrangement before ordering.
